We’re not here to stalk you. We’re here to help vCISOs grow, connect, and build real businesses — without turning your data into a product.

That said, here’s what we collect (and more importantly, what we don’t).

1.

Info we collect

When you visit vcisocollective.com, we may collect:

  • Basic info you give us — Like your name, email, and maybe your LinkedIn if you join the Collective or fill out a form. You know, the stuff you want us to have.
  • Usage data — Standard web stuff: what pages you visit, your browser type, how long you hang out.
  • Cookies — Yep, we use ’em. Mostly for analytics. Not for tracking your every move like some dystopian ad network.

We don’t collect your blood type, crypto wallet, or childhood trauma. Just what we need to run the site and support the community.

2.

Why we collect it

We use your info to:

  • Send updates and resources you actually care about
  • Improve the website (we like knowing what’s working)
  • Manage the member directory and community features
  • Occasionally send opportunities, referrals, or invites you didn’t know you needed

We don’t sell your data. Not today. Not ever. (Even if someone offers us a yacht. We’ll think about it, but still no.)

3.

Member info

If you’re a member of the vCISO Collective (nice move), we store a bit more:

  • Your membership tier, access level, and participation
  • Community interactions like events attended or referrals sent
  • What you’ve opted into (because surprise emails are the worst)

Your info may be visible to other members if you want to be visible. You can opt out anytime. No guilt trips.

4.

Analytics & cookies

We use Google Analytics to track site activity. It tells us things like: “Oh look, people actually read that page.” Or, “Wow, no one clicked that button.”

That’s it. No creepy fingerprinting. No ads. No selling your clicks.

You can block cookies in your browser if you want. We won’t take it personally.

5.

GDPR + CCPA

If you’re in the EU, UK, or California, congrats—you’ve got some extra rights. You can:

  • Ask what data we have
  • Ask us to fix or delete it
  • Say “no thanks” to marketing
  • Request a copy
  • File a complaint with someone in a suit (but please email us first—we’ll fix it faster)

We respect your privacy rights. Just email us at hello@vcisocollective.com and we’ll handle it. No forms. No drama.

Also, for the record: We do not sell personal data. That whole CCPA “Do Not Sell My Info” thing? Already handled.

6.

Who else gets access

Only a few trusted services:

  • Google Analytics (see above)
  • Our email provider (for sending useful stuff, not junk)
  • Cloud services we use to run the site

That’s it. No advertisers, no data brokers, no sketchy “growth hacks.”

7.

How we protect your info

We use secure cloud storage, encryption where it matters, and standard best practices.

We’re security people—we care.

But if the internet explodes or someone invents quantum hacking tomorrow… we’ll tell you right away. We take this seriously.

8.

Third-party links

Sometimes we link to other sites. If you click off, you’re playing by their rules, not ours. We only recommend things we trust, but still—read their policies if you’re worried.

9.

Terms of service

This privacy policy covers your data.

Our Terms of Service covers the legal side of using the site, joining the Collective, and being a decent human.

10.

Changes to this policy

If we ever change how we handle your data, we’ll post the update here.

Big change? We’ll email you. Tiny change? We’ll quietly fix it and keep doing the right thing.

11.

Questions?

Reach out. We’re human.

Email us: hello@vcisocollective.com

TLDR

We collect what we need.

We don’t sell it.

We use it to support the community.

And we’ll always be transparent with you.
